Does anybody use a hard case for carrying your 1911s? What are you using?

I found a SKYY vodka metal  case that use to hold 5 or 6  miniature bottle of SKYY vodka  at a garage sale for 50 cents a couple years back. replaced the cutout foam, and that is what I use to transport my M1911A1 or other  pistols to the range and back. large enough to hold 2 pistols. picture show  my USGI 1911A1 and Soviet TT33 TOKEREV in it

just last week I picked up a empty DeWALT sawall case for a dollar at a town wide garage sale. I'm going to cut out the plastic compartments out, put some foam in it and that will be my hard case for transporting my VECTOR MP5k to the range and back or pistols if I want to take more then a couple.

unlike a lot of folks who want to be "tacticakewl" and spend a lot of money on over priced hard cases just to transport firearms to the range and back, I'd rather put that money toward more important things, like ammo

I went into a grocery store and bought a first aid kit in the plastic box, emptied it and cut the plastic dividers out, it holds one full sized pistol. If I need more, I take a 12 can cooler and a couple hand towels
