I'm looking for your experiences shooting hard cast bullets from your Glocks. I personally have not used them but the high cost of jacketed bullets is steering me towards them. A couple of seasoned shooters I know and respect use them exclusively without any issues. They emphasize thoroughly cleaning the barrel after a range session especially, just forward of the chamber. Please...no gun shop myths. |

For a reasonably priced bullet that does great out of your stock Glock barrel, I've been using moly coated lead bullets from Bear Creek Supply in my Glocks for thousands of rounds. For example, their 40 cal, 180grn moly bullets are $54.40/1,000 delivered (as long as you order a minimum of $70 which is easy these days). They work great in my G20, 21, 22, & 23s as long as I use a slower burning powder to keep the temperature down (TiteGroup is too fast for all but the lightest loads), and keep my loads below 1,000 - 1,100 fps (slower burning powder [cooler burning] allows for faster speeds). I've also used Precision moly coated bullets with similar results. They aren't hard cast, but the moly coating keeps the barrel very clean and you'll note that they are are relatively reasonably priced. On the down side, I've not had good luck with Master Blaster bullets. I've had issues with their 'moly' burning off the base and leading up my 45 barrel something fierce. YMMV |
