Hoping that someone knows what I have here....

I came across these and really don't know much about them, other than the first 2 appear to be quite rare.  I'm not a 1911 guy, but was hoping that someone here knew what these were and what they are worth.

I noticed that #1 Has a Bomber Logo and that #2 is missing the 1913 patent date and has the Colt Logo in an odd spot.

You can make out the Colt Logo to the right, it's more apparent in person than in the picture.

#1 is very rare from the original (REAL) Massachusetts Springfield Armory.

#2 appears to be a pre-1917 WWI 1911 slide.

#3 is a WWII Union Switch and Signal (perhaps not really rare but desirable).

#4 is a nice (what appears to be) post-war commercial or GI replacement (perhaps to around 1956-58-ish).

Yep, if you want to sell the US&S slide, I have a US&S frame that needs one.

I couldn't see anything on the LH side of #4, but it is most likely a post-war 'hard-slide' as already stated. Is there anything at all on the LH side? The ones I've seen that have the 'Colt.....Hartford, Conn.' on the RH side are roll marked the same as the Government Model slide of the same period. This is because that's what they are - GM slides that were not polished and blued after marking but instead lightly blasted and Parkerized for the government contract. That roll mark looks like this:

Possibly it was refinished at least once during its service which softened/obscured some markings. Judging by the RH side, I'd say that's a distinct possibility. Nevertheless, this slide makes for a great shooter, being fully hardened. Your other slides are either non-hardened, M1911, or spot-hardened, M1911A1, and generally we don't shoot these. I'd guess you have about $1000-worth of slides there.

Thanks for the responses.  If anyone needs better pictures to clarify something, let me know.

So, if the "lot" is worth about $1,000 are some worth more than others?

This is what I was going to ask.  Original barrels themselves can be quite valuable.

Post pics if possible.

And all those slides except the uss appear to be refinished so that drops the value. iF the barrels are ww 2 or earlier usgi barrels in good shape I would say the deal is good. I figure the uss slide is probably worth about 400 on its own

#4 has the following markings:

"Colts PT. F A MFG CO Hartford, CONN U.S.A."

"7790314"

Here's some more pictures... hopefully they came out better.  Also included pictures of the various barrels, magazines and grips that came in the box.

Barrels are nothing special. Post war replacements and misc.

You have two sets of walnut colt grips, one full checker set and one double diamond set.  These are decent and have some value.  The other lighter colored one at the bottom is unknown, too many checkers to be a USGI colt.

How are the 1911 magazines marked?  They appear to be blued WWII.  Look on the top of the toe of the magazine (top of the baseplate up front).  R is for Risdon, L is for MS Little, G is General Shaver, S is Scovill, unmarked is Colt, C-R is Colt Risdon, C-L is Colt Little, C-S is Colt Scovill.

Yep, that was the next 'hard slide' version supplied by Colt as replacement slides after the original one I mentioned. Slides by all manufacturers of that type had the same drawing number, 7700314.

#4 slide and barrel looks like somebody intended to use it to make a good shooter. The barrel looks new - the later barrels came Parkerized and some have chrome bores. Then you have two National Match barrels and some NM bushings. Some of those may be matched to each other and a slide. You have one very interesting barrel, the black one. What are the markings? Looks like a new WWII or earlier barrel. There is an unknown object below a magazine in one picture. The grips; one set of M1911 double-diamond walnut, one set of pre-war Colt 28-row checkered walnut and the last set looks like a set of early WWII plastic checkered with no rings around the screws. Can't tell much about the mags. Look on the bottom and on top of the toe of the baseplate. Colt factory mags were unmarked. When I posted '$1000' value, I meant just the slides. You have considerable value in all the other stuff too. Mags vary from $5 to $200 depending on what they are.

Your Colt Little C-L contract magazine is worth maybe $35-40, the other unmarked Colts are averaging $25 or so on eBay for decent used ones.

The Parked Black Barrel is marked "45 Auto" "7791193", however the other black barrel has no markings.

The "unknown object" appears to be a barrel of some kind... probably for something else that fell into the box.  Also, the grips are all wood... I'm guessing the camera phone isn't doing them justice.

Value so far.....

Springfield Armory Slide $???

Old Colt Slide $???

US&S Slide - Approx $400

New Colt Slide $???

Misc Mags $25-30

C-L Mag $35-40

Barrels ????

Does that seem about right?

The unmarked blued barrel is anybody's guess. I guess the grips I thought were plastic are aftermarket. I'd say if you really want to sell the stuff, put it on ebay or Gunbroker. Ebay allows anything but the frame and more people will see it than GB. I would start each slide at $200 and see what happens. Barrels I would start around $50. I recently sold some 1911 stuff like this and the auctions ended very well indeed. :)

Thanks for the help guys... Slowly putting this stuff on ebay.

I'm quite surprised how the double diamond grips did.   Never would have anticipated that.

Decent condition original walnut Colt grips are getting pretty hard to come by.  Even the plastic WWII grips are rising in price, with early Colts getting hard to find and commanding a premium.  How much did they net.  I'm guessing upwards of $125, at the least.
