Gentlemen,
I need some help I have CDP ultra and it has serious feed issues. The rds nose dive into the feed ramp in both the kimber and wilson mags. I have about 150 rds mainly ball ammo through it over the last 2 years will not feed hollow point sat all. I work overseas and not state side that much. I thought it was maybe the mags. But I just got in 2 Wilson mags 7rd compact #47 OXC. Haven't been to the range yet with the wilson mags, just loaded the mags and cycle the rds manually. None of the rds would cycle not even ball. The slide is extremely difficult to release. The mag sticks out of the end a little doesn't fit flush like the kimber mags. Just wondering does the Wilson compact mag work in the Kimber Ultra series? I was wanting to carry the Kimber as a ccw, if I can some type of reliability out of it. As of now this is the worse handgun and most expensive I have ever owned. Any help would be appreciated. |
| I would call Kimber or atleast have a competent gunsmith look at it. I have had an Ultra CDP II for about 8-9 years and have never had a problem with it. It has been fed all types of ammo from Kimber, Chip McCormick, and Wilson mags to include the #47 OCXs. I shoot whatever I can buy cheap at the range and it has eaten some really bad ammo of all bullet types. I carried it as my primary for a few years and relied on it to get me through a couple of scrapes. I love it and have literally entrusted my life to it. I hate to hear about your problems and hope that you are able to get it squared away sooner than later. Can you post some pics of the condition? |
| ok well after help from here and another forum, I polished the ramp and let the wilson mags set loaded. As of tonight the weapon cycles manually just about every thing I have. That is good news but I do think I have a slide stop problem as I can see lead on the stop from the rounds and the extractor may need to be adjusted. I will call Kimber tomorrow to see if I can get a slide stop on their dime if not I will buy a wilson. Hopefully I can get this thing running this week. |
