Looking for something to get any copper fouling out of the bore on my G22. Will Hoppe's #9 do it or do I need something else? TIA!

I never worry about it

This is what I use: Mpro7

It works pretty good and it doesn't have any odor!

I've never had any issues with copper in my glock barrels.  Lead on the other hand....

Butch's Bore Shine kicks ass on anything I've ever tried it on. I'd remove the barrel to clean it as I have no idea how it would react to Glock plastic. I'd also use it outdoors as it will stick up any inside space to high hell. I barely clean any of my Glocks let alone the barrel. You think it needs it?

It's a Gen 2 (1993) I picked up used 11 years ago. I've shot the shit out of it ever since. Never cleaned the barrel with anything more than CLP. Took it to the range last week and it was all over the place. Figure a good bore cleaning won't hurt.

I like Butch's, but depend on Sweet's for heavy copper fouling.

I'm a big fan of RB-17 cleaner for heavy fouling.  It's tough to find but the stuff works really well.

I second MPRO-7.

Boretech Eliminator is also good for copper.

Use a phosphor bronze bore brush, and when you clean the bore turn the brush clockwise from the chamber end many times as you slowly move the brush toward the muzzle. That'll clean out copper fouling with a few passes with any decent solvent, I personally use Hoppe's #9. After you use the phosphor bronze brush, use the Glock nylon bore brush to clean out the bronze residue.

You'll need to buy a separate bore rod for the phosphor bronze brush, Glock's bore rod uses a different threading, I think it's metric. If you try to put an American 8x32 threaded brush into the Glock bore rod it'll destroy the threading in the rod and split the rod.

Any good solvent and Chore Boy (copper).

Are the Chore Boy pads truly solid copper? I bought some off-brand pads and they look copper, but a magnet sticks to them.

The manufacturer claims they are 99.997% pure copper.

I've used them with great results.

BTW: Just don't buy them at a 7/11 (they'll think you need them for your Crack Pipe). Get them at a Supermarket/Costco/Sams, etc.

ETA: Chore Boy
