I picked-up an old Model 36 for $100. (No letter in its serial number.) It's in decent shape except the extractor binds when ejecting shells. It binds when the cylinder is in 3/4 of a 360 degree turn. It does not bind in the last 1/4 turn of the cylinder. When I spin it past the area where it's dragging, it snaps back in place. The cylinder also slightly drags when I spin it with the extractor in the closed position.

I removed the cylinder from the yoke, disassembled the whole assembly and still can't figured out what might be the cause. The yoke has some wear marks on it but the cylinder spins nicely with the internals removed. The center pin has a very slight warp to it when I roll it on a table but if I put everything back together, I still get the binding in the exact same area. I've cleaned everything and lubed it with TW25B and get the same results. I was thinking of replacing the extractor rod and center pin.

Any advice from someone with a similar problem would be appreciated.

Sounds to me like you diagnosed the problem yourself.  Replace those parts you mentioned and I bet the problem goes away.

You may have a bent ejector rod...  Check this by holding the assembled revolver in your right hand with the cylinder open, muzzle to your left with the ejector rod at eye level... Spin the cylinder by using your left hand on the top of the cylinder, counterclockwise. Watch the tip of the ejector rod (where it fits into the locking detent which is on the bottom of the barrel) and see if it turns off center.

Next, check the crane for alignment. Someone violently throwing the cylinder outward may have twisted it off center...
