Want to pick up a Sig as my first handgun before Obama screws us. (I'm currently in Iraq so I'm going to have my mother pick it up with a POA)
I will be using it for carry and home defense but mainly recreational shooting. Looking at the P226 in .40 or the shorter P229 in 9mm. The 226 is $767 and the P229 is $713. What do you guys think? |

Get a CPO one for ~$500 , if your lucky you'll get one prior to them losing quality contol over their pistols. But other than that both are quality pistols, I'd get a 9mm personally, the 226 is a little big for concealed carry IMO. |
