I have 400 bucks burning a hole in my pocket and have a want for a sub compact 9mm. I'm looking at a non RS sig p290 with 5 mags and a holster for 400 it is lightly used. My question is should I buy this gun or keep shopping for a rs model or go for a completely different gun.

there is a reason SIG no longer makes the P290...I wouldn't unless you are sure of the reliability of the particular pistol you are buying...I really like my P290RS...good luck with your choice.

So the non rs model is garbage? I normally shoot glocks which function like the non RS model and I don't mind those please tell me the cons to the non RSVP model.

The RS went through a major reliability upgrade.  I know the guy who did the R&D testing on the RS and he carries it.

I’m with these guys.  You can get a new RS for $400, so you’re not off that much.

My wife has the Liberty Edition of the P290RS.  Although it gets some bad reviews over the long and heavy pull, it is a pocket gun.  I actually shoot really well with it and carry it every time carrying something bigger is just too difficult
