Ever since I saw man on fire, I've thought about trading my colt 1991a1 for a glock 34. Am I crazy?

yes.

Don't get rid of a 1911 for a Glock.

But if you were ever going to . . . the 34 is the best Glock made . . .
in my humble opinion.

The 34 will be my next Glock I pick up. IMO it wouldn't be that bad of a trade for a 1991 to a 34, But I would keep it and buy the 34 and have the best of both worlds. Also if you don't own any Glock  hi-cap mags that might be the thing to buy now.

Haha, that was a big motivator for me as well.

I got one a few weeks ago.  It is so absolutely bad ass.

I liked my g22 much better than my g35 for some reason. I ended up trading the g22 for a g17 and the g35 for a g26. I don't think I'd ever get another g35 or g34. I thought it would be awesome. The g22 shot just as good just didn't have all the bells and whistles.

I have a G22. Before I bought one I thought the 17/23 was the nicest. Now that I have a 19/22 I think they are the most balanced in size vs handling. I think the 34/35 just looks too galky/long/unbalanced. The favorite handguns that I own apeal to me on multi levels, they feel good in my hand, I shoot them well, and I like the way they look, the 23 seems stubby the 22 just right, the 35 too long and the compacts look weird to me, call me Goldylocks

I hate the 1911 platform but you should keep it and get the 34.

The 19 is the compact and the 17 is the full size 9  The 22 is the full size .40 and the 23 is the compact.

Go with the 34. Here is a target from our last range day.
3 yards = 12 rounds
7 yards = 12 rounds
15 yards = 12 rounds
25 yards = 12 rounds
50 yards = 12 rounds

A few years back I was lookng for a 17L. I couldn't find one so I finally gave up and settled for a 34. Then, less than a month later I stubbled accross a 17L. So in true ARFCOM tradition, I bought it too.

This should answer any of the threads asking "should I get this?"

I agree, right after the G35.

I've sold and traded many guns to get others. Most of the time I regretted it. I should have kept then all.

I stoot a Glock 34 in USPSA competition and carry a Glock 23 as my LEO duty weapon.
After making a CCW holster for my Glock 34, I often now carry it on duty with a spare 33 round magazine. "Why Waltz When You Can Rock and Roll."

Buy a G35, conversion barrel and G17 mags.  That way you can shoot both .40 S&W and 9mm.  Best of both worlds.

Lone Wolf conversion barrel will run $110.  G17 mags are plentiful, but they're getting more expensive by the day!!
