Long time Glock guy.  I recently bought a RIA tactical and I love it!  I went with RIA because I did not want to invest a lot in a platform I was unsure about.  It is one of the best shooting handguns I have ever fired.  I am officially hooked and cant wait to buy another 1911.  In the meantime I am wanting to upgrade the grips on my RIA.  I am looking at the VZ Alien or some from alumagrip.  I am however open to suggestions and would appreciate any recomendations you guys might have.  I always get good info from this site.

I just got some VZ Aliens, and love them, I just put up pics in the Kimber thread (my apologies, not trying to hijack the thread).

I have used VZ Operators but found them too thick and too aggressive, especially when carrying IWB.

I am currently using Std thick Alumagrips and LOVE them. I can't say enough good things about them. The fit was PERFECT as is the feel. Chris did some custom laser engraved logo grips for me for a group I belong to www.GeorgiaCarry.org and my guys loved them. Not one complaint. Here is a close up pic ....

Tell him I sent you ...

I personally won't be using any other grips.

Went with the VZ Aliens.  I did sand them very lightly to make little less agressive.  Look and feel great!

The dust created when sanding G10 is extremely harmful to your lungs.  Grip makers use a very expensive dust removal system when cutting/sanding this material, please don't try this at home.

What he said. I love my Davidson Horned Lizards, and I carry daily. If you order from him and you carry, tell him to smooth them for carry.

I have a set of VZ Aliens and like the other guys said they are pretty aggressive.  If I'm doing any serious shooting my hands will get chewed up.  I don't like to shoot with gloves so I'll probably replace them with a pair of VZ Gator Backs soon.

I've had good experience with VZ's customer service  I made a mistake when I ordered they sorted it out fast.

I run VZ Operators by choice.
