Mauser made..The cursive 'h' is the prefix to the serial number...would have started with no letter prefix, an 'a' prefix, 'b' prefix, etc..in roughly 10,000 gun blocks...
Probably the best ammo is Winchester white box 115gr bulk pack..seems to work about the best if the gun is picky about ammo. If you don't know how to take it apart for cleaning..it's fairly easy..easier than a 1911. a bit quirky reassembly-wise..but not too complex..still easier to stick back together than a 1911. Value..just depends..original finish..all matching numbers..original grips..matching mags..correct holster...is it an import luger with stamp..mismatched parts..reblued..etc... A matching number original finish 'correct' gun might be worth $1200 give or take a couple hundred bucks...an import stamped or refinished gun about half that..give or take a couple hundred bucks.... |
