Im trying to help out a friend in need of money. He has 2 lugers he is trying to figure out what they may be worth.
I know nothing about lugers myself, so any help would be helpful.

Both look like they have been reblued and not restored. This being the case maybe $5-600 each as shooters. If they were original finish they would bring at least $800 as shooters for parts only. The 30 Luger cal hurts the 20 commercial as ammo is not as easy to find as 9mm.

From the pictures the finish kind of looks like Russian redipped capture examples that became available on the market some years ago. Seems like around 2000-1 they sold when imported for about $400-500 or so. If these are those types...most likely they would only interest a real collector as a shooter but...that would be hard to determine without more info regarding year of manufacture...acceptance stamping..etc. for both the weapon and the magazine.

I would suggest you get all markings and stampings in detail pictures and post them up over on lugerforum.com. Those guys might give you more specifics regarding a reasonable value but just from a quick look...I would be surprised if they are worth more that $600-700 but...who knows...they might actually be real treasures to someone.
