| Are there any high capacity (>10 round) 9mm 1911 magazines? |
|
maybe PR0-MAG makes one. or you can make one yourself, just need a mag to be the feedtower and a SUMOI drum, weld mag onto drum. POW! 70 round 9mm 1911 drum.
that's how I made 70 round drums for my MP5 and my 9mm PPS43, by using the mags for those and welding it on the drum. |

After recently acquiring a Armscor I have also been looking. In the 8+ years I sold guns and stuff I don't think I ever saw one. I think I might have seen a super extended 38 super way back when but nothing in 9mm. Asked my old boss if he had seen anything and he said no.
Shot a steel match with a 8 round course of fire so I only had 3 spares |

That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the input guys. Quoted:

Well, since they have the 10 round 45 bodies, how hard would it be to turn that into a 12-15 round 9mm? That's what I was thinking. Thanks for the input guys. My guess is they are wider internally so not ideal. Would have to close in the feed lips and figure out a spacer to fill the space in the mag. |
| I asked this same question here years ago. My wife was getting into 3Gun, and while I really wanted her to like my G34s, she really didn't. What she fell in love with, however, was my Trojan 9mm. She shoots it very well, and I figured, how hard could it be to find some 140mm single stack 9mm 1911 mags, right? Well, not so easy, as it turns out. My last resort was to send off two mags to highercapacity.net and have him weld up a 140, but I decided against it due to cost (around $90, plus sacrificing two Cobra mags). In the end, she doesn't really have any issues with 10 round mags--she just does an extra mag change or two during a course of fire. If someone made some reliable factory 140mm 9mm 1911 mags though, I'd buy some. |

I am pretty sure there is a big enough market for it to be profitable but since there isn't any kind of urgency or immediate need nobody has any incentive to jump in the market. |
