I just installed a Hogue Handall on my 3rd gen. G17.  First impressions are good. I like the added grippiness and stickiness, and feel that it does have some recoil dampening effect, although this could be psychological.  The palm swell is taking a little getting used to, though.  Sweaty hands were not a problem, whereas sometimes when shooting it stock, a little rain or sweat would make me feel as if I didn't have ideal control over the pistol.

Any feedback?  Other pros or cons?  Thoughts from longtime users with more extensive experience?

And yes, I'm aware of the innertube substitute

I've tried to like them (twice actually) and always gone back to the original grip.

This.  Nice at first, but not good in the long run.  Plus, sticky rubber will catch your shirt.

Not a hogue but I tried a slip on (looked like a piece of bicycle inner tube) and while shooting it, it would move up and over the mag release.
I never tried another.

I like mine on my HK USP 45, but haven't tried one on my G17.  Haven't had any issues with it.

i have used them quite a bit and no longer have them on my glocks. when shooting a lot, as in a class, i noticed they moved and rotated quite a bit.  i now have rubber decal grips on my gen 3 and gen 2 glocks and lke them better....though i have not run them in a class yet.

best

I had one on my carry gun. It stayed in place fine but would catch my shirt and cause the weapon to print.

Competition glock gets 3M grip tape.

Like many have said: feels nice at first but in the end IMO the benefit is outweighed by the cons.  I had the same experience with slipping when it wasn't supposed to and sticking when it wasn't supposed to.  In the end my g19 got stippled.
