Yep, just got off the phone with Sparks, their backorder is back to 18-20 weeks. I was told to expect closer to 20 than 18.

It sucks being impatient.

Used to be 16 weeks

I ordered mine in the second week of February and got it the middle of July, so it was 22 weeks, I think.

I was initially reluctant to make the order, thinking that it wouldn't be much better than my Blade Tech.  It is much more comfortable and concealable, definitly a good choice despite the wait.

My 55BN should be arriving this week, my VM2, however, is not so lucky. That's the one that I'm expecting to see early next year.

VM2 for what? That Loaded Operator?

If so I've got a VM2 you can borrow untill yours comes in.

Have fun

I've been waiting for about 7 weeks myself.

Still another 7 to 13 weeks to go.

Tempted to call up and add to my order. They allow that?

My brother and a friend have been waiting on Alessi leathergear for 13 months. Stokes has been waiting for two years. I only waited 8 months or something like that.

Does 20 weeks still sound that bad?

Yup, I have been waiting.....I *think* about 10 weeks or so now. I honestly cannot remember. I just look at it this way, it will be like a complete surprise when it arrives!

See you gotta order the nice one (or two) then get a cheapy to hold you over then forget about it. 5 months later then it's a pleasant surprise!

Until you find a thread about some guy complaining that his MS stuff is 20 weeks out. Then you remember that you still have 15 weeks to wait still. Thanks for that.

Have you received you confirmation of work order letter yet? It tells what is supposed to be made for you, and you confirm that it's correct or change it if necessary.

The guy told me that that's a little indication that they're getting closer to building yours.

I have heard that there are places that have some in stock for about $25 more than list. I don't recall what the url is, but I am sure a search would find one for you.

When I started thinking about getting a 1911 I put in an order for a VM-2. I had the holster in my hands ~ two months after I picked up the 1911.

Lightning Arms. When I need a holster, they are ALWAYS my first phone call. Problem is, neither they nor anybody else stock a a VM2 for an Operator. Kind of a rare bird, so to speak.

I got the invoice like 2 days after I placed the order....

The invoice said 14 to 20 weeks, so I know damn well they weren't getting closer when that was mailed off

I just go mine this week! it was well worth the wait.

don't think about it and the time will go by fast

Yep,

I recieved a phone call from them to come pick it up (They're a few miles from my house) just one day shy of the 18 weeks they said it would take.

My impression of the VM2:
The best holster I've ever owned, and worth every penny, and every day I waited. My friends all agree that no one can tell I'm carrying with it with just a T-shirt. Its getting colder now, and its even easier. I also purchased one of their belts for $80 and am very happy I did. I also got the kydex clips, but haven't really tried them yet. I liked the leather better. I carry a Kimber Warrior.

My biggest mistake:
I forgot to order a magazine holder, and now have to wait another 20 weeks if I order through them. I wasn't certain about what type to order so I haven't done so. Does anyone know an online dealer that stocks Milt Sparks Equip?

ETA: How many people knew exactly what the OP was talking about prior to clicking on the thread? Welcome to the club. I recommend ordering soon, they're only going to get more popular as more people carry, and start to realize how good they are.

Congrats!

Now you have me wondering if I should add a belt and mag holder to my order

I knew damn well what he was talking about prior to opening the thread

Yep, I was pretty certain this was a Milt Sparks thread before I opened it.  FWIW, I showed a buddy of mine my Crossbreed IWB, and compared it to his VM2, and he was really impressed.  Then I told him is was $45 and I got it in 5 weeks and he got all pissed

Check Mark's work out at Crossbreed Holsters

Back in mid to late 80's I ordered a Summer Special and Professiona (I think it was called No. 1) holster from Bruce Nelson for my Colt 1911.  I was told it was going to take a while.  I orderd it in late spring (I think it was in May) and I received it a week before Christmas.  It was worth the wait and I had a great early Christmas gift... he sent a matching mag pouch for waiting so long.  Good holster is worth the wait.
