Got a stainless .45 Custom Match. What'cha got? |
|
Classic Custom and the .22 conversion kit. When I got the kit (about a year later), the mags rubbed on the slide stop. I contacted Kimber and they said they didn't know about that and it should be fine. I took a bit off the inlet on the mag and they work fine. It shoots CCI and Winchester high velocities fine. I even tried some Aguila SSS, but they don't cycle. |

Got a Custom Stainless Target model. added a tapered mag well and ambi safety as well as a new trigger. Great gun, very accurate esp. with light reloads, but very finicky with bullet selection. Doesn't like JSWC or flatpoints. Got the Kimber (Ciener) Platinum .22 conversion for it, and it shoots very well, but not as accurate as the Ruger Govt model. I'm thinking about buying the Polymer Kimber next. Anyome out there have any experience with this? |

Style guide rod and (3) Wilson 47D 8 rds mags. |
| Kimber Stainless Polymer .45, added an ambi safety and tritium night sights. Bought two 14 rd mags as well. The cost was justified the first time I bought it. This gun outshot my S&W 4506 and Beretta 92FS 9mm. There is no other. Used for home defense, but I take it out just to look at it. When I was in the Army, an NCO told me to buy a Kimber. Always listen to your NCO's! |

Pro Carry, my daily carry weapon. I've got about 8K rounds through it and I'm really pleased with it. I've added an S&A magwell to facilitate faster magazine changes and a Trijicon front sight. I also replaced the recoil spring with a Wolff after the original started to get a little mushy. |
| my wifey got an SS ultra carry for Xmas (from me, of course) and i...er um...she loves it. im not a huge fan of the rubber grips, the accuracy or the kimber mags, but all things considered its a champ. this gun, however will call you out if you are a limp wrister! my wife kept getting stovepipes until i showed her what she was doing. she said "oh, okay" and continued to blast away! man she can be so cool somtimes. dont get me started on what she looks like when she busts out the s&w 686! |
| Custom compact, bought it the first month they were out for $500. Last year I decided to finally get it dressed up. Hard chromed, S&A mag well, Wilson combat night sights, carbon fiber grips and had the front strap & trigger guard stippled. The best gun I own without a doubt! |

Kimber Custom Shop Eclipse II. I've had a Colt Gold Cup Series 70, Springfield Defender and a Caspian single stack custom. None can match the Eclipse II for accuracy, reliability and quality. http://photo.msn.s8.com/MS8zLzAvMS8xMDI5LzE1NS8zMi9SV29LdDB0SDJ3RGwtbk04U0kxTGFB/1845252ccba0f086894892ff16a3cdd7/clbk=*EtEZjHm6cqX74GM40zjg03OLQeCkB*KYZW2tXdJg9wcly0CDJ0k89ps0h5fcAfK1nzGrWPIxag$/jpg.jpg |
I don't know... Its hard to decide between the various models that Kimber makes, or has made-- it depends on your intended use/application. I think all Kimbers are accurate, reliable, and high quality hunks of metal/plastic. Some models have more "custom" features than others, but in general, they are all high-end to start with, and accurate out of the box. |
