I just bought this CZ75B a week ago.  I assume that the plastic piece, in the box, under the barrel, is a mag loader?  If so, how does it work?  I played with it for a few minutes, but either I'm not using it right or it's really worthless.

It seems like a speedloader. Assuming it is, You'll probably have to inset the mag insdie of it, where when you insert a cartridge, the nose should be facing outward through the hole.
If it's anything like the XD's speedloader, you'll apply downward pressure, start to feed a round in, and let off pressure so it will go in easily. A little practice and it's a breeze with the XDs--could be the same for the CZ.

Congrats on your purchase! Be sure to update with a range report!

ETA: It may be in the manual, but if not: The XD one had a little part where you'd put your thumb and pull down. It doesn't seem that this one does (at least not on this side). You may need to do something like put the loader in between your index and middle fingers, with your thumb on the bottom of the magazine, and then use a clamping motion to control the pressure.

This is all speculation and guesses, by the way, but hopefully it will at least point you in the right direction.

I have one that came with my xd-9.

It' not easy to use, and it is pretty useless. But till I buy something else, I have to use it.

Good luck.

Oh, nice pistol

That would be your mag loader.

Put the first round in as you normally would, then use it to push the round down so you can drop the next one in. It's very easy to use. Glocks come with them too.

That's the way I tried.  I put the first round in, slip the loader over the mag, push it down and the small tit on the inside pushes the round down, then I load the next round until the back of it hits the little loader tit and the round is half way in, then lift the loader and push the half inserted round in, repeat for the rest of the mag.  Is this correct?

Yes, correct.  It works fine.  Just like the glock one.

Yup. Just like the Glock one. With my Glock mags I found it was easier to load the mags by hand than use that thing, UNTIL I got down to the last round or two then that things adds a bit of leverage to push the rounds down and get the final round in.

exactly, the first ten rounds or so are faster by hand, but this device helps when the spring pressure gets pretty high.  Saves the thumbs if you have to load a lot.  They throw it in there so people with weak fingers can still load their mags at least somewhat effectively.  Imagine an 86 year old trying to get the last round in the mag.  Aint gonna happen without some assistance.

Thanks folks.

It looks like I was operating it correctly, but I must be really uncoordinated because it just seemed faster and easier to load by hand.  I'll try it on the last rounds the next time.  That sounds like a good idea.

I took the CZ out the day after I bought it.  The range report is about half way down the page at www.jobrelatedstuff.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=37&t=41163
