I picked one up today on a whim, just wating 10 days... It's my first 1911, and I thought I was buying an excellent mid-high end pistol. Poking around on here, it looks like I didn't make the best possible choice. Is the TC II plagued by problems like so many other Kimbers seem to be? What should I look out for? I own 3 Glocks, and I've never had a single malfunction with any of them. I just hope the trend continues with this gun. |
| I have a Custom II and never had a single problem with it. Eats ball and HP with no trouble. Very accurate too. After a couple of years I "resprung" it just to have an excuse to take it down. I think you'll be fine with it. No matter what gun it is in conversation, someone will have shit to say about it. |

Tactical Custom II is aluminum frame I believe. A little lighter. External extractor, isn't it? You should be fine. Take it out for a spin, let us know how it runs. My Kimber Custom II gave me the opportunity to learn about extractor tension. But it's good to learn how to make things run, and it's been fine ever since.

| I bought a tactical custom II about 2 years ago and yes, I love it. It was my first 1911. I own a sig, glocks, xd, hk, walther, ect, ect,ect....... I am in love with the ergos of the 1911 so much that I am stoked on buying another one soon. I looked at the springfields and come to the conclusion my next one will be another Kimber. My Tac II was finicky when new with a couple stove pipes probably due to the fact that she was very tight from the factory when new and I may have been limp wristing it also. I really oiled her up good and pumped about 300 rounds through her and now she has fed and extracted everything I put through her without a hickup. Now after such a long time I know what all the rant is about 1911's, they just feel like an extention of my hand and point so naturally. Accuracy is so good I seem to impress the hell out of myself everytime I shoot her. My next Kimber I want to be in .357 sig but I will have to see if Kimber can offer this one for me or I will have to buy a .40 and get a barrel. I wont count out a 10mm either. I just think the 10 will be a little overkill and not feed like a bottleneck .357 If anyone has the 10, e-mail me and tell me how you like her. Thanx and thank the guys at Kimber for making such a fine ass pistol. |
