Every month when I get my NRA magazine the first thing I look at is the Kimber advertizement and think "damn those are good looking pistols, I'm gonna buy one someday". Then I would look at them on gun broker or the EE and talk myself out of it because of the price.

The last couple of months I've had to really fight the urge to break out the check book. This morning I was feeling week and wanted to finger a CDP real bad so knowing what a weekend state I was in I talked my better half into going with me to the fun store to keep me grounded. I was half hopeing that I'd get there and they wouldn't have any in stock or that it wouldn't feel good in my hand. Anything to help fight the urge. Well lets just say niether was the case. There was a beautiful CDP Ultra shining like a spotlight from the gun case. Honestly it was the first pistol I saw when I walked in the door. As far as not feeling good in my hand, lost on that point also. I held it and it felt like it had been there all my life. It just felt good in my hand (you know not like a ruger)

My last out would have to be the sensibility of my wife to talk some sense back into my weakend mind. I looked to her and she had stars in her eyes, she had gone weak also. I looked to her to keep me level and she says "are you gonna let me hold it or what". We both fingered the CDP then a couple of other models but kept coming back to the CDP. I kept telling her it was to pricey she said put it on layaway, I said screw layaway if I wanted to pay over time I could use a credit card. She still says buy it.
I was awful weak but I summoned all the strength I could manage and told the counter guy not now but maybe when I saved up some cash for a while and maybe I'd tell every one to give me cash for my birthday and christmas I'd buy one then.
I hurriedly ushered my wife out the door while I still had the stength. I thought I had fought the battle and won until we got in the truck and my wife says "I cant believe you didn't buy it, you loved it and as hard as you work you deserve to do something for yourself sometimes."
Strength lost, weakness won. I grabbed my checkbook and ran back in there like a 2nd grader headed for recess.
 My new CCW is home.

No time to go to the range today but its going to see some action tomorow. Its supposed to be 101 degrees so it might not be a very long session.

Range report:
It was hot as hell !!!
The CDP shoots like a dream. Its my first .45 and I figured it would have more recoil because of the light weight but it was actually very negligable. It was to hot to do any serious shooting so we just popped the plates for as long as we could stand the sun. Put about 70-75  rounds through it with no FTFs. It functioned flawlessly and is a real sweet shooter. The wife says it shoots better than my Beretta because its lighter and easier to hold on target.
I've got to find some carry leather for it this week and some bulk ammo, I believe this pistol is going to spend a lot of time at the range when the heat breaks.
