a speeed loader for my girlfriends .38 Colt Police Positive.  I tried the gunshops around Chalreston, but no luck.  Searched on the net for a while, nothing. Anyone here know where I can find one?

First, is it the Police Positive or the Police Positive Special? The Police Positive was chambered in 38S&W (AKA 38 Colt Police) while the other is chambered in 38 Special. These are two entirely different rounds and you don't want to try shooting 38 Special in a 38S&W frame. Also, which frame is it on? The PP came in two different frames, the earlier one smaller than the later. If it is a later PP Special than something that will work with a Detective Special will probably wotrk. But you are not going to find a speed loader listed for a PP.

It is a Police Positive Special. Serial number is A134**. I think it was made ~1970.

If memory serves me it will take the same speedloader as a Colt Detective Special.

Right. If it's a PP Special then one for the Colt D frames, the DS, Agent, Cobra should work.

This is a "D" frame Colt and ditto what the others said about the Det. Spl. loaders working. I seem to recall that one for either a "K" frame S&W or maybe a Ruger Security Six may work as well, but my memory is a little fuzzy about that. Be certain that the grips (stocks) are not interfering with the loader when you try it...you need enough clearence for the loader to get to the cylinder correcrtly.
