i currently am short one full sized handgun and i would like it to be in .45acp. I really like 1911s, and would prefer i had one, but i would also like to have an accessory rail to put on a TLR-1 i have sitting around. Now, most 1911 with rails are around or over the $1000 range which is too much for me. Im looking to spend max $750, and would like to stay more around the 600-650 range really. Some railed 1911s that come to mind, Springfield Operator series, Kimber makes some, STI i believe has some. Now, a railed .45acp like a glock 21, M&P 45, xd45 or hk45/usp45 are all around the range id like to spend, or less. Only thing is i would also like to have an all steel full sized handgun, and dont really like the polymer frames really, as extra weight is viewed as a positive for my application. So this leaves me where i am now, stuck between to compromised, neither of which i want to compromise to at all, b/c it would entail leaving out an element for which i am getting the gun in the first place.
Any advice guys? are there any model 1911s with rails in my price range i dont know about? or how another all steel full sized .45 other than a 1911 type (one doesnt come to mind currently really) with an accessory rail? my ideal handgun would be a CZ SP01 in .45acp. i love the ergonomics of the gun, and standard comes with night sights, the rail, high capacity, quality brand of course is all steel and full sized. |
| I'd just suck it up and get a Springfield Operator if I was looking for something as described. Apparently this would be for HD or something equally serious, and there is no way I let another $400-500 stand between me and the reliability / quality needed to protect myself or my loved ones. Smoke the CC if necessary. |
