I've got a standard 92FS with the Bruniton finish and was wondering what finish is on the Inox's? Is there a finish or is it basically just a 92FS with the finish stripped off and polished up? I'm looking into getting a M9A1 and was going to sell my 92 but than thought of stripping it for the Inox look.

The 92FS/96FS Inox pistols have stainless steel slides and barrels and have a frame that is anodized to a silver like finish.

So in theory, one could strip the Bruniton finish and just polish everything up to give it that Inox/stainless look? I suppose it would need alot more care to prevent rust but other than that doable?

If you strip off the Bruniton, Beretta's corrosion resistant finish, all you'd have is exposed and unprotected carbon steel. It wouldn't look shiny for long without a LOT of care. IMO, not at all worth it. Keep your nice Bruniton the way it is and save for (or trade for worst case) an INOX. You're not going to get what you want by stripping the Bruniton.

You could also have the pistol hard chromed or have the NP3 finish applied. By stripping the slide you will not only remove the Bruniton finish, but the parkerized (phosphate?) finish that is applied underneath it.

Simply do as I've done with most of my handguns, including my 92fs's and Inox's.  Send them off to Metaloy industries for treatment.  They come back with a brushed chrome finish, and the finish applied actually bonds to the metal and actually hardens it.

My Safari Arms Matchmaster, that I carried concealed for 22 years had the Metaloy finish applied before I began carrying it, and 22 years later, hundreds of competitions, range practices, and concealed carry draw practices later, the finish still looks nearly 100% new.

Sousana, you have any pics? I've been looking around at different finishes but haven't come across any decent pics of them.
