Thoughts on this pistol light?
I'm buying one from a buddy sight unseen.
I'm currently using a TLR-1s

I am not a fan of the insight lights, the licking mechanism is flimsy and the lights never seem to "fit" securely on anything. Too much slop for my tastes.

I would take a tlr 1 over any insight light any day of the week .

The only thing I've ever liked about the insight lights is how good they look on a Glock lol. They used to be very popular tho. If it locks up solid I'm sure it will be fine.

Holster selection might not be as easy as finding holsters for the TLR and Surefire x300. Insight has kinda dropped off as a popular light these days.

I have one in tan. I have about 300 rounds with it on a an FNX9 and Glock 19. Not much but hasn't given me trouble. The fit is solid.

Only complaint is that compared to my TLR1 it doesn't seem as bright. And it fits in Glock 19/TLR1 DSG Alpha holster for what it is worth

That last part about the DSG is good to know. I have the same holster and love it.

ya, the listed specs say it's dimmer
Like I said, getting it at a bargain so no complaints.

Thanks for the info though, basically confirmed what I had been thinking

I have both the TLR1 and the M3. The latter is not nearly as bright, but does the job effectively. The M3 is noticeably lighter. I tried my G19/M3 in a DSG Alpha holster for the TLR and it did not quite fit. I'm sure with a little heat gun action that could be resolved.

I just replaced my M3 with a TLR1 today. (My other TLR1 resides on my G35 in my tac belt.) I've relegated the M3 to my M&P45...I may start using that as my nightstand gun.

If you're getting the M3 for a good price, it's perfectly serviceable. I wouldn't pay full price for one, though, when the TLR1 is available for $100 or less on a regular basis.

And FWIW, I've removed and replaced my M3 dozens of times, and it still locks up tight. It's been carried daily and used in several classes, schools, and qualifications. No problems.

I just tried my DSG Alpha again (it's a G19/TLR1) with the M3 and the opening does bulge out a little bit, not much. I put in a full mag (empty chamber) and held it upside down and shook it and didn't fall out. Not too big of a deal in my opinion.

I've had both an M3 and now an M3x and never had problems with either on any of my guns. The X is a tiny bit larger than the regular M3 is that matters to you
