How hard is it to install a new trigger in a 1911? It would be in a new pistol specificaly a Springfieldmilspec. Also what would be a good trigger to get?  I do not like how short the factory one is.

Drop in trigger that is just longer in the shoe would drop in for the most part, but a fitted trigger would be better.

On fitted triggers, you need to stone the trigger it's self to fit the frame, then depending of if it has a take up and over travel, you would need to set these as well.

Don't really know what you want out the trigger, so I am reluctant to suggest one type over another.

Now on the other hand, if you looking for a longer trigger with no creep, no over-travel, and a lower break pound weight, the it might require more than just a trigger, and the hammer and sear will need to be turned/replaced as well (read no on that I know will smith on a MIM sear/hammer since they will not hold a edge very long, and these would need to be replaced before a trigger job was performed).

It would be for a carry pistol. The weight is fine with me and the only reason I want to change it is because I like the triggers that are longer in leangth I should say not the pull. The G.I. triggers are set to far back for my taste but my loaded trigger is just fine. I like the loks of a skeleten trigger but if the trigger in the G.I.s and MilSpecs were the rite size for me I would leave it. So basicaly I am just wanting a good replacement that is the size I need since it is not for any type of compitition and I do not like super light triggers anyway. I am sort of wierd in that I like a realy light DA or a nice stiff single action pull.
