So I'm looking to procure M&P 9mm for the lowest price that can be had.  So far, the best deal looks to be BudsGunShop at $439 shipped.  They have model 209001 in stock ready to ship.  This is the model with 17rd mags, a magazine safety, and an internal lock.

From what I've read, it seems that people are afraid the internal lock will foul up and render the gun unusable.  But would the lock cause no interference if I just left it open at all times?  Should I save myself the hassel and just wait it out for the 209301 without the internal lock for the same price?

99.999% of the issues/opinions on the S&W locks involve their wheel guns. I have several semi's of various makers with a lock (H&K, Springfield, etc.) & as you mentioned, I just leave the lock off & go on about my business.

I don't eat sushi, I don't vote for politicians that support amnesty, and I don't buy guns with internal locks.

I would wait, you will regret it later.  The magazine disconnect/safety is a terrible idea IMHO, at least in any carry/shtf role.

If you want a 209301, you better get in line............behind me. I just ordered mine from Bob's on Monday.

I was amazed that the dealer I'm getting it transfered through couldn't even get it at that price. He quoted me $457 + tax + transfer

That is strange.  There is at least 1 other retailer that I have seen that is willing to match that price.  I don't think they are taking a loss on them.

I was told 2-4 weeks. With isn't too bad considering I saved $80 over buying it locally.

If you want one sooner, buy one without the internal lock, but WITH a mag safety. No warning on the slide and you can tear out the safety. win win

Don't get an internal lock or the mag drop safety.  There both bad idea's.
