When did Interarms stop importing and start making the PPK/S?
I emailed Walther my serial # and they advised my gun was produced in 1971. It does say "made in USA" on it but I did not believe Interarms started producing the PPK/S til a few years later. Serial # is in the #S154*** range. Thanks for any help...LL |
| I had the copy of Guns & Ammo that featured the introduction of the US made PPK/S for many years, it was about 1980. The pistols made in West Germany were just getting to be too expensive too sell here, Interarms decided to have the guns built here since it would be cheaper than importing them. There were only the PPK/S and later the PPk built here, and only in .380 with a limited run of .32acp towards the final years that Interarms was still around. As far as any information I have ever seen all of the .22lr PP,PPK/S, or PPk pistols were imported, French made and German stamped. |
