I asked in the refinishing forum and didnt get a single answer so I will ask here.
I recently had my STI edge rust, thought it was hard chrome but apparently not  A local smith has been doing Isonite on some of his guns and is offering me a great price.
Looking for some feedback. I saw in another thread that it said it was the same as melonite. What parts can be coated and not coated? |

Same as melonite, atranite,etc
Springs, pins, hammer and fps probably should just be finished in matching blk oxide. Barrel, slide, frame, grip safety, thumb safety, slide stop etc should be good to go.... Make sure whoever is doing it knows what they're doing and you should be ok. Be aware that if it's messed up , it's very hard to unmess. Google atranite...... |
