What is the most accurate 9mm hand gun on the planet?

Make that an auto!

OK, I'll play.  I am going to say a Colt Gov't model.  The old broomhandle Mauser would be an accurate design, but its poor trigger keeps me from doing well with one.

On second thought, the Thompson-Center Contender is probaby the most accurate 9mm, but for some reason I don't believe you were talking about single shots.

Good perception! I should qualify this by saying I am thinking of an auto.

Any particular Gov't recreation in mind like Kimber or Wilson Combat?

Thanks. I'm looking forward to hearing more.

I own a SIG P210.  When I first got it, I took it to an indoor range and fired it from a rest.  All the rounds went into one ragged hole.

Another superbly accurate 9mm pistol is the Finnish Lahti L-35.  It has a trigger that is so smooth and crisp that it is almost unbelievable.  It feels like the trigger on a high-end .22 target gun.

Here's a pair of  pictures for you.

P-210 with original Swiss manuals:

And here's the Finnish Lahti posing with the Swedish Lahti.  The Finnish L-35 is the pistol with the brown grips. The Swedish variant is nowhere near as well made as her Finnish cousin.

I was going to say a Sig 210,  someone beat me to it.  How about an Colt AR 15 carbine in 9 MM or a Glock 17L,  maybe even a Glock 34.  It would take a machine rest to find out for sure!

SIG 210. I do not own one myself, unfortunately, but everyone I have talked to who does own one raves about the accuracy.

I just read the history of the Sig 210 and I can see why you guys have put this on the list. Seems like they took Moses's 1911 design to the max.

210 History

Looking for info on the others.

I can see the advantage the Lahti would have; heavy i.e low recoil, fixed barrel, high quality.

I am finding it interesting that the contenders so far are both out of production.

There were only 9300 Finnish Lahti pistols ever made.  They were essentially hand-made and the trigger pull on mine must be 2 pounds or less.  The trigger is so crisp it boggles the mind.  I cannot understand how a military issue sidearm can have a trigger this good.
