Only 1911 mag I ever had trouble with was a colt build from the 1970's... all others I own have been GTG. I'd swear that Colt mag was either a knock-off or a b-stock... it was very very soft metal. I don't have it anymore. |

I don't have it anymore. When I've experienced it it's been with Chip McCormick mags. I know lots of people swear by those things but every one I've ever tried has been an absolute dog. |

In the old days with heat-treated magazines, what would happen after a long time was a tiny crack in the feed lip. You see this often on WWII era and earlier magazines.
Modern, quality 1911 magazines should not bend or crack. Wilson, Tripp, Colt, you should not have a problem. Cheap ones, you roll the dice. |
