I just picked up a classic custom.  I took it out today and shot 50 rounds.  It came with 3 mags that appear to have seen a bit of use.  All but two times the slide did not lock back on the last shot.  I took the mags out and worked the slide.  After replacing the empty mag, the slide would lock back.  This is my first Kimber and I have not had this problem with my Colt Gold Cup.  Any ideas?

I took the 3 ACT mags and a Chip McCormick out today.  Also installed the new recoil spring from Kimber.  Had one round each in two mags that hit the top of the chamber and did not go in all of the way, this was the first two mags.  I shot 200 rounds with only these first two problems, slide locked back each time after last shot.  The first two mags were Blazer Brass, the rest were Fed and Win 230g fmj.   New spring and mags make a happy gun, I think its fixed.  Thanks for the comments, hope it keeps running good.

Mag springs could be weak.

I was using Blazer brass  230gr fmj.  I called Kimber and they said to try a new recoil spring.  If that does not work they said to call back and they would send a new slide stop.  I will order some new mags today and try them also.  thanks for the replies.

Try replacing mag springs.

Replacing the recoil spring is always a good idea on a used gun but I'll bet your problem will be fixed with new mags.

Got some new mags the other day and tried it.  ACT mags and the slide locked back on all three.  Didn't have time to shoot each mag more than once.  New recoil springs came from Kimber today.  The springs are about 1 1/2 inches longer than the old one.

Are the rounds hitting the slide stop?
