Found a really nice used Kimber Compact CDP II and traded for it today.I always wanted a smaller frame .45 ACP for concealed carry.I've shot full size 1911 for years either bullseye matches or hunting and plinking, but this is my first compact. The shop I bought it from let me shoot it on their range for reliability and thru two magazines (one with 230 ball and another with 185 JHP)no problems at all.I think it's going to be a keeper.Any one else have any experience with the CDP?

I have owned an Ultra CDP and a Compact CDP. The two most beautiful firearms I have ever owned. I ended selling them both due to my OCD nature and reluctance to carry a gun I was afraid to leave in the truck. As far as reliability, they were what I have found typical with all the 1911s I have owned. I had several failures with both pistols during break in. They seemed to settle down some after getting a few hundred rounds thru them. I didnt shoot either of them enough to know for sure. Very nice pistols, but too nice for me, as someone who likes to be able to use every gun I own, and that means leaving them in the truck alot. Once I get everything else I want, gunwise, I will get another one. It will probably be another CDP. BTW mine were both CDPIIs.
