I don't use any tools to field strip my 1911. Am I doing something wrong? Do you have a bull barrel or a regular barrel with a bushing on the end. (IIRC) kimber using a bull barrel on more of their 1911 that are 4 inch or shorter. Because of this they don't have a bushing and require a tool to disassemble the firearm. It's pretty much a bent paperclip that locks back the spring on the guide rod |

I lost the tool for my Ultra CDPII. I emailed Kimber and they replied asking for my mailing address to send me a new one free of charge.
That was in 2003. In 2007 one of the grip panels on my Custom EclipseII broke, I emailed Kimber and they told me to replace my grips with a set of new ones from Kimber, only that time I had to pay. I put a set of VZs on it and it looks much better. I only mention the dates because the customer service may have changed in quality over that time. Or maybe it was a matter of the cust service individual in each case. |
