For a company that "details" how they make guns, MIM, etc, I don't read the word "forged" anywhere on their site!

I've "read" they use "barstock" now...if that makes a difference. They are not cast!

I hate to fan the flames of discussion. I'm not a fan of Ruger firearms, although I have owned a bunch of them over the last 25 years. but they have convinced me of one thing. Cast firearms work!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And so has The Springfield Armory M1A, Cast receiver as well, it works. My two Caspian Cast frames work as well!

From what I've always herd it is easier to make a cast frame correct than a correct droped forged frame.

Forged barstock is not the same as a dropped forged frame.

So what's the difference, what are pros and cons, and which are gun frames made of? (presumably dropped since you mentioned it)
