| I have been wanting to get a 1911 for some time, and decided to pull the trigger. I put a deposit on a Kimber Tactical HD II, did I make a good choice or are there better options out there in the 1200 dollar range? |

I think you'll be alright. I would personally go with a Warrior, Operator, or TRP. I do however like the looks of that 1911. Hope it turns out good for you. ![]() Your the second person that said to go with the Warrior. Why? I was on the phone today comparing the tactical model, and the Warrior, and besides looks they said there really isn't much difference. I think the biggest difference is the frame (Warrior has a rail), and the sights. |

Warrior vs. Tactical:
Novak Night sights > meprolight night sights Rail > no rail Series 70 firing system > swartz system High ride beavertail grip > normal beavertail grip GI guide rod > full-length guide rod G10 grips > Kimber laminate grips no front strap checkering < 30lpi front strap no magwell < magwell plastic MSH < steel MSH normal match trigger < premium version match trigger Otherwise they both have the same finish and the same features. The Warrior has a lanyard loop and slightly extended magazine and slide release, the Tactical has checkering along the trigger guard. The Warrior is $1400 MSRP vs. the Tacticals $1300 MSRP, but I see new Warriors all the time for $1200 or less. Out of the two, I'd get the Warrior. |

I like my Tactical custom 2, it has served me very well. They are also making a HD model that is a full wieght all steel gun and a tactical entry model with a rail. Warrior is also a great gun and you can have it anyway you want as long as you want a full wieght all steel gun with a rail. http://i188.photobucket.com/albums/z207/2814V/gunsmay152009009.jpg Just reread your post and see you are thinking about the HD, if you want a rail then its a tough choice Tactical or Warrior, I would lean towards the Tactical. If you dont want a rail then its an easy one. Yeah im not looking for the rail, I want the classic look. Plus Im not carrying so weight isn't an issue. |

I paid under $1100 out the door 2 months ago for a Sig 1911 stainless with rail & night sights.
Put about 300 rounds thru it without a hicup. https://i754.photobucket.com/albums/xx182/quandcng/564C0015.jpg oops! see next post. |

Tricked out with Wilson Combat trigger and VZ G10 Alien grips |
| I've met the factory CZ, Dan Wesson rep for the Missouri area, nice enough guy. Don't remember his name. He brought lots of samples that day in 1911's and long guns. Nice fit and finish. He asked what I thought of them and I had to be honest. Hadn't spent any time around the product. The 1911's he had were slick looking and the lines flowed together nicely. It will be good to get an opinion from someone who can give an unbiased report........... She's a nice lookin pistol Spook. |

I've got the SIS full size & love it, it's tight, smooth & as accurate as any. It will fire anything you feed it. It was designed for & with the input from the LAPD so it got a lot of extra attention, since it was going to protect the law. When a firearm is built for the law or the military..It's Built Good. Buy it ....it's a hell of a good pistol ...unless you want your's to look like everyone else's? As far the serrations go? I changed the grips & extended mag-wel . If it's designed for cops or military It's get's a lot of attention. |
