This is my first 1911, bought it used from a gun show about a month ago.  Now I am looking at different pics of them and noticing that the trigger on mine is black and not the light finished that everyone else seems to have.  Anyone know if this is a stock trigger or how I can find out if it is stock.  Reason I am asking is because it seems odd that when pulling back I feel a click and then a hair more the hammer falls.  Hard for me to describe.

definitely not stock compared to every other raptor ive seen. Even if it were a swap out part someone did, they definitly didnt do it right if youre gettin a pull like that

get on and buy a matching trigger and then take it to a gunsmith to have him swap it out

Good Point.

That was my thought.
If the trigger is aftermarket and the bow is a little taller, it may be catching/rubbing before it breaks.

So when I have the safety on and pull the trigger back, i feel and hear the click...I get the hair pull after I release the safety.  Seems like it would be great if I were doing some precision type shooting, but it definitely feels like something is not right.  I am probably going to break it down myself, since I don't really know any decent gunsmiths in my area.  Thanks for the replies.

You may be feeling the disconnector rubbing against the sear legs as the trigger forces it back.   It may also be the Swartz safety levers activating, or the grip safety arm just barely grabbing the trigger bow as it moves past.
