Has anyone had there mag catch go bad.I just sold mine to my brothers friend and all he did was load the mag and the mag catch would not engage and i have only shot 15 rounds out of this gun.Its going back to Ruger but i was just wondering if anyone has had this problem? Thanks Mike

Well if anyone is haveing this problem i just spoke with ruger and there is a upgraded metal magazine catch/release that they are sending me. Thanks Mike

I've heard of this problem (over at the elsie pea forum) and the new mag catch.  I've not had any issues but good to know Ruger has the fix.

with my LCP you have to press the mag release button in to get the magazine in...otherwise it just hits it and stops. is this what you are talking about? is this normal?

No that is not normal. It never happened to me but when i sold it it did happen.

I just Recieved the mag catch and it is metal.

Ruger is sending me a replacement magazine release as well.

How difficult is it to replace...what is the procedure?

Mine is VERY difficult to operate when there is a full mag in the gun???

Its easy look at you manual and you will see how the spring is and it just pops out and slide the new catch in and put the spring back in and your done.Mike
