So I am attempting to change my main spring. I have the roll pin in the lanyard loop. I want to change it out as I have beat the crap out of it trying to get it out. So, where do I find a replacement?
Thanks for any feedback. |

The pin in my M92 is solid, and is almost a slip fit requiring almost no force to move it if the spring force is not there. Its trapped by the grips, and held in place in the frame hole by the hammer spring pressure, so getting a close press fit is not a major deal in my opinion. Its probably a metric pin/hole but I'd measure the pin/hole and head for the nearest ACE hardware and their loose hardware department. The local ACE has a pretty good selection of standard hardware (pins, rods, bolts, etc). I'd bet you can find something that could be used––you'd probably have to trim for correct length. Another possibility might be the shank of a proper diameter twist drill, cut to the correct length. The current roll pin is probably a couple of thou oversized relative to the pin hole in the frame––hence the tightness in the frame that you've experienced. You'd be looking for a solid pin that was the same size or a tenth or so smaller than the frame hole.
On the other hand, I think Brownells is the designated detail part supplier for Beretta so that would be my choice if I was trying to find the "correct" pin. |
