First Semi Custom. Gotta say I am very happy with it. Haven't had a chance to shoot it yet. It is tight, but not as tight as I was expecting, or atleast not as tight as I felt people to make them out to be....The lock up is very tight, and when racking, it does take some 'umph' for that initial "break" of the action, but then its nice and smooth, bet it'll only get smoother after some rounds down the pipe.

I was surprised to find the 30lpi front strap checkering to be VERY grippy and is pretty cool to look at and to think it was done by hand. A couple things that attracted me to the Les Baer for my first Semi Custom is its utilitarian Character...The sometimes 'rougher than others' tooling, the bluing which is my favorite finish due to the way it wears and character it adds to a pistol. Even if it does require a little more maintenance. And honestly, the fine FCS :roll eyes:

Unfortunately it didn't come perfect, due to ordering an already assembled pistol (at a good price) I am going to send it out in the next week or so to have an Ed Brown Machined Ambi Safety installed (Lefty) and a Brown magwell blended.....Those thin grips are gonna go too and be replaced with some Spegels.

Very nice...

I just got mine a couple weeks ago and it has been flawless over its first few hundred rounds.

Beartiful pistol and a joy to shoot.  I plan to change nothing.

Congrats on your new Baer. They are fine pistols and the accuracy should be extremely good.

Congrats on the UTC, Baer makes a hell of a 1911 for the money.  Couple of the small parts could be a little better quality and the mags aren't the best but overall damn nice pistol.  When I first got my TRS I sat and watched TV while I hand cycled it a few hundred times.  Couple nights of this and after 600 rounds it was smooth as silk.  I didn't have my first malfunction until round 750 or so and it was with one of the Baer mags.  That's the only one I've had out of a couple thousand rounds through it.
