I want to get a light for my USP. 40. I also want to get a Safariland drop holster for it as I use them with my M9, 1911's and Sig's. This however will be the only drop holster set up for a light. It looks like I can get an insight M2 for about 150.00 or a TLR-1 and a GG&G adapter for about the same. Safariland does not have a holster designed for the TLR-3.

Any thoughts on which light to get? I am concerned on how much lower the adapter puts the TLR-1 on the frame of the USP.

Got the M2 UTL in a 6004 holster myself.  About the only complaint I have is I wish the M2 UTL was brighter.  Otherwise, the light stays nicely within the envelope of the gun.

Supposedly the Surefire USP adapter is lower-profile than the GG&G, but I haven't had either to compare.

I thought I saw a thread somewhere in which someone mentioned that Safariland does have holster option for the TLR-3, but they had to call about it.  Haven't followed up on that myself, but was thinking about looking into that or a SF X300 since those are much brighter options these days.  Plus I could swap the X300 to my P30.

Thanks for your reply. I ended up getting a M2 NIB on eBay for 110 and ordered a 6005 holster.  I called Safariland and they had nothing for the TLR-3
