I'm just curious.  Leaving my gun in my hot car while at work....what kind of effects will this cause.  I'm sure I should clean it a bit more often than my others in my air conditioned home.  It's hot when I first pick it up after sitting awhile, but I have yet to notice any sweating or real moisture?  Hope this isn't a stupid question.

it wont cause a problem or be any differnt then if it was in air conditioning. why would being in heat make the gun wet? how is it gonna condensate?

well if the gun is parked the heat will make the oil run on whatever it's touching, but you don't need to worry about the heat from a car, you need to worry about your peice being stolen from your car. If you got that solved you have nothing to worry about

Another reason to use Slide Glide or comparable greases for lube.

Don’t see any major issues with the pistol.  I’d be much more worried about bringing the pistol into a warm, humid house after leaving it out in a really cold car, since this can cause condensation.

The ammo is a somewhat different story.  Prolonged heat can significantly (though not instantaneously) degrade powder.

Thus I’d probably swap out the ammo every once in a while (at least yearly), which is a good idea anyway.

Also, store the pistol and ammo in the lowest possible (and suitable) location to keep it as cool as possible.
