| Right now most my handguns are semi-auto's and I have one that I wear as a side while hunting. A Blackhawk .357 that I load FMJ a little hot for Smokey-the-bear. I have been considering a double action and have been eyeing a Ruger GP100, SS, 4". Any suggestions or recommendations? I like the .357 because a .44Mag is more gun than I am comfortable with and with the .357 my wife can fire the .38 specials in. |

theres nothing wrong with the GP100. its what i OC when i do. if you get one, shoot it awhle before you do any work on the trigger if you do. it will give you an idea on what its like before you do the work. iirc, i polished up some surfaces and installed a lighter hammer spring.
if you want a little more sweetness, then look for a S&W x86. on the 44 you can also shoot 44 special or some light loaded 44 mags. however, the 44s can be a bit heavier. |
