Got a new M11A1 last weekend.  Haven't shot it yet, but I've noticed a potential problem with it.  When loaded, when I try to clear the chamber after dropping the mag, the slide won't budge.  It takes an incredible amount of force to get the slide to move the first 1/4".  After that, when it breaks, it moves easily, ejecting the round.  It doesn't have this problem on an empty chamber, just when there is a round chambered.  It's severe enough that I think it would cause ejection problems when I fire it.

Have any of you guys experienced or heard about this problem?  What was the outcome?

Thanks.

What kind of ammo? and let's worry about it after you actually go to the range.

Hornady Critical Duty.  I know it's too early to cry foul, but I just wanted to know if anyone had this issue, and their outcome.  I have no idea when I'll make it to the range, sad to say.

I see you can sense my panic.  Was it beca-ca-cause I was stuttering when I was typing?  I'm just seeking information.  Thanks for sharing yours.

Try cocking the hammer before racking the slide.  Could maybe be a stiff hammer spring.  DOING THIS WITH AN EMPTY GUN is a pretty good practice.

Relying on 19 other families with their own agendas, motivations, and priorities.........I can't see how this could possibly fail.
