I bought a new Beretta M9 commercial (broke the seal in front of me) today and took it home to field strip and I had to use a little bit of force( just a little bit not alot) to get the slide off the frame. Is this normal for a brand new Beretta, will it get easier over time?

It was probably just the spring or guide rod catching a little.  I don't ever recall much force needed for my 92 or the M-9's in the armory.

watched some videos online and they all seemed to be able to get there slides off the frame easily.

I think I found the problem, part of the slide on the left hand side, very back is damaged and is getting hung up (scraping) on the enlarged hammer pin  head

There are small points of hang up.  Nothing major.

Bummer.  Make a warranty claim asap then.  Hope it's a quick fix.

I took it back to the store I bought it and they happily exchanged it for me.

That works too.
