I am ready to get a Beretta 9mm and would like to know of any differences between the M9 & the 92FS.haveOne dealer told me the 92FS has plastic internal fire control parts the the M9 has metal parts. He also said the M9 has looser tolerances? I did notice the 92FS has 3 dot sights and the M9 has a straight 8 sight picture. Which sights do you all like better? I have shot the 92 in the past and loved how it pointed and shot for me.I would appreciate any comments or input. |

They are for the most part identical firearms with the exception of the roll marks. 92f will likely have 3 dot sights M9 will have dot and post see the picture in the thread I linked to there are some other minor differences in the grip cuts on the M9A1 backstrap but I do not think the M9 and 92F are any different there. Both have "plastic" parts the guide rod in particular. the trigger is metal coated with a plastic like material. Depending on the age of the 92F the dust covers are different one will have a flat dust cover one will have a slanted dust cover. the 92F will have a paragraph of warning labels engraved on the side the M9 will not. www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=5&f=15&t=47990 you should type the following into Google it will show you a lot of post on this board as well as other gun boards "m9 92f differences" <<-----google it |

I am new to Beretta pistols. I did buy a M-9 last week. The warning card that came with my M-9 referred to the pistol as being a "replica". So I called Beretta about this. The customer service rep was very friendly. He answered all my questions. He said the M-9 and 92F were the same pistol with the exceptions already mentioned above. He said parts between the two would interchange. As for being a replica, he said the difference between the commercial M-9 and the military M-9 are the roll marks. He added the reason for this is that it would allow law enforcement officials to determine whether or not a M-9 used in a crime was stolen from the military. I hope this helps. Perhaps, you might consider calling Beretta. I am sure they will answer your questions. |
