Is there an optic that can mount directly to the MOD3 slide? The adapter plate renders the iron sights useless. I don't necessarily need co-witness, but I'd like to be able to see the iron sights with the optic installed. Using a Crimson Trace not only can I not see the iron sights, I practically have to hold the pistol at a downward angle to even see the dot. It's so high up on the slide there is not enough adjustment to even move the dot down to be useable. |

| Like Squatch said you're going to need suppressor height sights to cowitness the irons. The OSP plate is about 3 times thicker than the slide mounting plate I bought for my P320, and I still had to purchase and install the supressor height sights on the P320. The way the guts of the striker firing system are set up in the XD, you just can't get a red dot low enough to cowitness natively. |

They said it would be a few weeks, but after contacting Crimson Trace, they are sending me a new optic. Since the CTS-1200 is discontinued, they are sending me a RAD as the replacement. That won't fix the sights issue or the mounting plate issue, but hopefully the new sight will at least have proper adjustments at least. Anyways, thanks for the input. I'm new to the pistol optic world. Still trying to decide if I like it or if they even work for me at all. |

Quick update. The replacement CT RAD optic showed up today. It arrived faster than expected, I didn't even get a shipping confirmation or tracking. The rep also said it would be a few weeks. Anyway... Very happy with their customer service and the new optic. I mounted it on the MOD3 and it seems more or less dead on out of the box. I will make adjustments at the range, but already far better than the original optic. I also requested the green dot version, which is cool. I actually feel like my eyes pick up the green dot faster, it seems easier on my eyes for whatever reason. [Pictures pending] |
