Concealability wise, I think they are about the same. Comfort wise, I have to go MTAC. It has the adjustment of the CTAC without the kydex body on both sides. Both are great holsters though.

+1

I don't own a CTAC, but I have worn one that belonged to a friend.  It concealed just as well but was not as comfortable as my MTAC.

MTAC all the way...very comfortable. I love the adjustable cant, I wear mine pretty canter.

I have both.  In fact, the CTAC and the MTAC are the only serious carry holsters I buy anymore.  Overall, the people above got it right, the MTAC is just way more comfortable to me.  The only advantage I really see with the CTAC is that it has a bit more stiff retention due to kydex all the way around.  The MTAC, with leather on one side, still can be reholstered with one hand, but the pistol does not click into place quite the same way as the CTAC.  The MTAC can still be adjusted for retention, though.

MY CTACs are old, and were made before the MTAC was available.  If I was buying now, I would only buy the MTAC.

I'm a big fan of the CompTac holsters as well.  I have a CTAC for a G29 and one for a Kahr PM9 and they're about the best holsters I've ever tried.  They can be uncomfortable against the skin though, if you don't wear an undershirt between it.  With undershirt, comfortable as can be and not a lot of bulk stuffed into your pants.

I just ordered an MTAC for another gun to try it out.

I have the CTAC; although it's the best IWB holster I've used so far, I agree with other members that the kydex against the skin is slightly uncomfortable.  I never wear undershirts unless I carry.  I have a Milt Sparks VM2 on the way so I'm looking forward to the comparison.  I've been looking at the MTAC, too...and will probably get it with the different kydex bodies to accomodate my different pistols.   I've just always loved kydex holsters.  The Milt Sparks will be my first all leather.

I have carried with both for a long time. I started with the CTAC and went to the MTAC for comfort. When I attended a multi-day advanced concealed carry class I brought both holsters. I started off using the MTAC. Then I switched to the CTAC to try it out. I found that my grip on the pistol in the holster was much better with the CTAC, my draw stroke and times were also much faster. Also, reholstering feels much better/easier to me with the CTAC. I switched back and forth a couple more times but basically left the class having my mind changed to the CTAC for carry. It does sacrifice a bit of comfort compared to the MTAC, and this is a sacrifice I accept for its other benefits for me. CTAC is the only IWB holster I use anymore.

The CTAC has better retention, faster draw, easier re holstering and is impervious to sweat.

The MTAC may be more comfortable, but the CTAC is more serious.

See, you're always able to say it in so many fewer words than me! I'm long winded.

I have always heard that the CTAC is better at concealment, but the MTAC is more comfortable.

I don't own a MTAC, only a CTAC, but will be getting a MTAC soon to check it out for myself.

My MTAC conceals my full size USP pretty good.

I've used both and I actually prefer the CTAC. It conceals very well and I can get a bit of a faster draw from it. I also like the retention a bit more. Having said that, there are many fans of both holsters and you really can't go wrong with either in my opinion.

I carry a Kahr PM9 in a C-Tac every time I leave the house . I must not know any better or the PM9 is so light but I never had a problem with the holster against My skin. Now if I could just fit into My 38-40" Comp-Tac Kydex Reinforced Contour Belt that I bought as a goal for My " 55 stay alive " ( I turn 55 this August to the surprise of all My H.S. teachers !  LOL  ) program I started Myself on at the local Gold's Gym. ....WVleo
