Recently moved to a G35 as my competition gun. I'm looking for recommendations on a mag well. I'm not worried about size constraints or fitting in the box.

Which one do you guys like?

Does the weighted brass one make a difference or is that a gimmick?

I'm leaning towards the Dawson, but ALG, TTI and Zev seem to have nice offerings as well.

For a full size magwell I really like the Dawson.  The replaceable insert is a nice feature and keeps you from beating the hell out of the aluminum.  I've owned a Gen3 and Gen4 version and had no complaints.  I'll probably be buying another Gen3 as I decided to turn one of my pistols into a project gun.

Thanks for the feedback. Does the mag well get real beat up? I've been shooting a USP with jet funnel for a year and a half and its fine.

Any experience with the brass one?

I have the brass TTI on my G35. The added weight balances it out quite nicely. I had a Zev before and I would pick the TTI over it hands down. They are about the same size but the funnel of the TTI is way bigger.

ETA: I had a Dawson Ice on my 2011 before I sold it. It's a great magwell. But I fell that the extra weight is more important for the Glock platform rather the having replaceable inserts.

I have the ALG which is fine but I'd love to swap it for the TTI.

Lots of love for the TTI. I have a bunch of their stuff on my Benelli M1 and love it. What's the concensus on weighted vs aluminum?

I'm conflicted on the weight...  adding weight is good, but IMO not in the backstrap.   I want the weight out front.

I have a Zev with the brass weight on my G35.

It takes a pounding.

I went with a Zev pro on my G34. I felt a couple different ones but didn't like the way they felt on my hands. I like the minimalist approach. Plus some wells require modding the baseplate.

Good to know, thanks. Have you handled the TTI?

I have the brass TTI and like it, but it's the only one I've ever used so have no basis for comparison.

The ALG gets my vote.

I love the looks of the ALG, just wish they would of gone with a screw on the rear that doesn't stick out, like the Agency arms magwell has.

Can anybody who's used both the Dawson magwell and TTI magwell chime in on their preference and why?

Good pic. I have the ZEV, which I like a lot, but the TTI looks like the best as far as magwell size and flare goes. Might try that one next.
