Well I just got my first Glock, a model 30 and I know this is probably a stupid question but I know its ok to leave AR/AK mags loaded over periods of time, can I assume the same can be said for pistol mags?

Yes ,but you may want to rotate them every couple of months or so.

No, it is not necessary to "rotate" them, just because they are loaded.

It's perfectly okay to leave your Glock mags loaded indefinitely.  It has no ill effect on the springs whatsoever.  All of mine stay loaded, all the time.

what wears them out is loading and unloading them a million times, that's what will weaken the springs

It seems like I remember a post about a guy getting a Glock pistol from his father(?) that had been stored for like 10+years loaded. He took it out and fired it and it did just fine.

Awesome, thanks guys. Thats what I figured. Also, I cant seem to find any spare mags for a 30 right now but I think I remember seeing someone posting that you can use mags from a Glock 21 or something, have you heard of this?
