ok guys im hearing alot about the M&P45 and am enterested in gettin my self one and am going to but i keep hearing that the dark earth brown model has a 13+1 capacity and the plane jane black has a 10+1 capacity and that there is a manual safety on it that is not on the others other than the mag safety is the any truth to what im hearing or is it all shim sham |
| The M&P45 is designed with a 10 round normal capacity. The 10 round mag will fit flush. When the 14 (or 13) round mags come out they will extend beyond the bottom of the grip. All mags will work with either finish. The mag safety can also be ordered with or without in either finish. |
| oooooooooooh ok hes was saying that the would be a double stack mag instead of a single but he must of just misunderstood i guess. and as for the mag safety i like that ideal cause if your are in a struggle for your weapon u can just eject the mag and go for your back up piece. but he was saying that there was a manual safety like on some of there other weapons. i know they offer a key safety ill have to ask if that is what he's talking about....................................... thanks i guess thats what you get for listening to just anybody. thank again |
the guy at the gun shop told me that its unavailable with night site from the factory. cause i ask, he said they make nite site for them it but it just don't come that way and as for thumb safety it has the thumb safety just no mag safety. i basicly wanted the thumb safety and the mag safety and night sites and he said it was not available with anything but the thumb safety. he said they could order nite site and install them for about 80.00 more. but im S.O.L for a mag safety

Look at the bottom of S&W's product page. It plainly shows that the night sight model (for dark earth) is 109556, which just happens to be marked at the end of the box I have sitting here. Model for black with night sights is 109706. |

I took my M&P 45 to the range today and was pretty impressed. The gun shot everything and was really accurate with Federal Hydra Shok 230gr. With standard ball Aguila was the least accurate, Wolf more accurate and Speer Lawman the most accurate of the 230 gr FMJ. Trigger reset could not be noticed like it is on a Glock and the trigger is definetly a lawyer type one. I ended up liking the medium backstrap the best. I plan on getting the trigger worked on, stippled front and back strap, and milling the dots off the rear sights since I am used to shooting with only a front sight. All in all I was happy and plan to keep her |
Did they give a reason for hacking off half an inch of the barrel to make it "midsize"? Just wondering because it doesnt seem like a significant amount to be useful. |
M&P info go here, M&P PISTOL FORUMS ![]() I have 3, .40 standard, .40 compact and a .45 standard with slide safety like my 1911's. Great site, nice folks and a lot of information on everything M&P. |
Spoke to a S&W rep at a purchasing show. Said that the reason the M&P 45 compacts were not made any smaller was that they couldnt get them to perform reliably. |
