| Shot my buddy's M&P40c yesterday, and I actually really liked it with the exception of one glaring weakness. I really disliked the long reset of the trigger. It kept throwing me off, and I was told there was a Pro version that had a modified trigger. How is the trigger modified? In addition to the trigger, it just has a longer barrel/slide, right? |

I have not shot any of the Pro models, they are supposed to have better triggers than the standard models. However apex now makes parts to improve the reset of the standard guns, have your friend check out their site. |

The 40 Pro comes in either a 4.25" barrel with night sights or a 5" barrel with a fiber optic front sight. The 40c and standard 40s have 6.5lb triggers, the Pro's have 4 - 4.5lb triggers per S&W. I have a 40 Pro in 4.25 and absolutely LOVE it BUT if you don't need / want night sights or the FO FS, personally I would save a little money upfront and buy a standard M&P 40 and put the difference towards getting a good trigger job done or do the APEX DCAEK. If I get a 40c I am dropping in an APEX DCAEK and calling it a day. I have the APEX RAM in my weapon and would recommend that as well. |
